Title: The Hundred of Kingston 22 June
Post by: chrisonabike on 23 February, 2024, 02:19:50 pm
Just a heads up about a one off 100 mile ride being hosted by Kingston Wheelers Audax Club (KWAC)

2024 marks the centenary of the Kingston Wheelers club and one of the commemorative events is a 100 mile (150km in Audax terms) ride from Kingston toward the coast and back. It doesnt quite reach the seaside but instead takes in Ditchling Beacon and Devils Dyke before heading back north. More details on the AUK calendar but in brief, controls are at the Bluebell Railway (catered), Saddlescombe, Shere and Ripley before finishing at the Park Brewery in Kingston.

PS just to add, I think the ride is quite easily ECEable

Just an update/plug for this ride. Route now checked (with a slight change  - heading back via Dorking instead of Surrey Hills). Its just over 100 miles (centenary) and just over 2000 meters of climbing. Id forgotten about the hills heading back through Sussex and Surrey so although its a bit gentler without the Surrey Hills section there's still plenty of climbing.

Coffee at the start, breakfast baps at the Bluebell Railway (including a platform ticket), beer at the Park Brewery finish plus a free limited edition collectors Kingston Wheeler Centenary patch!
