Title: Specialization is for insects
Post by: andygates on 26 April, 2008, 12:15:05 am
Heinlein wrote: "A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."

Not a bad list to live by.  Give yourself a point if you can do a thing.  Half a point if you have the theory or a near-neighbour skill (butchering bunnies, say, is half a 'hog' point).  Two points if you're a ninja.   ;D

I like to think that in some strange parallel world, some bloke on yetanotherninja forum has just posted about ninjas who cycle being awarded 2 points...

Wow! I've actually done 19 out of 21 (no dead computer programmer me!) and I've still got time in hand to learn to do them. I've even been paid to do 11 of them including planning an invasion (a couple actually...) :o

Must go and have a sit down...
