Title: 2010 desktop background calendar - submissions
Post by: kyuss on 05 October, 2009, 04:44:26 am: Okay, I'm up for doing another desktop background calendar for 2010 if people are interested???

This thread is for you to post pictures for submission. Rules would be the same as last year, which are:
1: It should be a picture taken by you and have the permission of any recognisable YACF members in it (general members of the public are fair game).
2: Must be in landscape format.
3: It should be cycling related (no generic landscapes that you've spotted on your travels, unless there's a cyclist or bike in there somewhere)
4: Posting small pics here for ease of viewing is preferred, but please make sure there will be a high resolution (3mp+) version available for the finished articles.

I'll make the final decisions on who makes the cut. It would be nice to vote on it, but the logistics involved would be a nightmare and I'd like to include as many of the submissions as possible. Of course, all photographers will be credited on the image.

Also, if anyone has any thoughts on the 2009 designs (which are still available to download here (http://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=11129.msg195216#msg195216) if you aren't aware) then feel free to let me know (for instance did the dates interfere with anything on your desktop etc).

Since I missed this year's calendar until now, would you mind awfully re-doing all this year's pics with next year's dates? Because there are some I'd really like the opportunity to use.

Are you using the pics in the correct aspect ratio? I noticed there are three versions for different screen sizes.

Think so, probably doesn't help that the largest I can use is 1024 x 600 so am using 1600 x 1200 as its the nearest according to the post (1024 x 768).

It's at the top of The Struggle, just by the Kirkstone Pass Inn, where I was caught in a blizzard about this time a year ago. It might be more impressive if you could make out the gradient on the sign in the background...

If I remember rightly there was the most appalling headwind at this point. I did a video of the 300 I recall.

598 km.
A few days away in the caravan( connected to the car would be usefull according to Marj) to do this ride seems like a non-shabby plan.

If I could convince Marj to drive/tow the caravan back home I could ride home :demon: ;D

Up to Bwlch y Groes from Lake Vyrnwy, down to the north (unless you're Mel K...). Was quite exciting enough on 61", TYVM.

I really don't like hills but you do get a buzz of satisfaction from the view at the top of this one don't you & the downhill turns you into an adrenalin junkie.
Did you disconnect your legs at the hips to get down on fixed? & 61". :o
