Title: Children's LEL art.
Post by: Exit Stage Left on 08 November, 2010, 11:20:00 am
I was curious to see what was on a microdrive I had lying about. There are the pictures done by schoolchildren at Thurlby, best viewed with the Vision On gallery music in the background.

Those are lovely, and confirm that it's not only road marking painters who are utterly unable to draw a bike - although matthew (?) has had a pretty good go with that green bike at the back - he's just unable to make the legs go either side of the frame...

Emily, on the other hand, has got a very good posture on her rider...

Love it! I think they have been watching old Paris Roubaix videos & seen Steve Bauer's stealth bike.

This one is perhaps a bit too fantastic.

Oh, I love that - the 'commentating box' especially.  And the flying into the sun?  WTF?  ;D

Kids drawings are so wonderfully uninhibited when it comes to details...

This one is a lot more formal, and from the rider's perspective. They were all done in 2005, it would be fascinating to know what they are doing now as they prepare for their GCSEs.

This one's from 2009 (don't be misled by the blue sky & sunshine). Spokes a bit slack...

I think I saw a hoodie riding that the other day....

Brillant.

I like that 'rider's perspective' one, that seems like quite a mature idea.

When I saw this one at Thurlby on the 2005 LEL, it immediately made me think of the Snow Roads. With permission from the artist (Matthew), his head teacher, and Damon who took the photo, I use it on the Snow Roads perm card and on the information bumph I send out for the event.
