Star Trek (Original Series) was compulsive viewing for me as a child.  I imagine that, deep in my subconscious, I'm living my life based on a set of rules defined by Star Fleet command and Kirk himself.

If we ever do visit new worlds and civilisations then I hope William Shatner is around to grab the green Alien female and show her "this Earth thing...Kissing"
