Title: 1001 Miglia
Post by: Jonah on 05 October, 2011, 02:25:02 pm
Has anyone completed this ride on fixed wheel?  If so it would be great to hear how you got on.  I have just checked the '1001 Miglia' site for the 2012 edition - whilst the challenge appears most exciting, I do notice that many sections of the ride are classifieded as 'very difficult'.  I would be most interested to know how this Italian 'Tap difficulty classification' translates

Teethgrinder did in 2010, as did a couple of Germans. It was impressive watching him climb seated at about 40 rpm, steady as a rock.

it's a hard ride, with proper climbs and descents (unlike french or british ones). certainly doable on fixed but you would miss out on those breathtaking descents - and many of them. TG is the best man to speak to :).
