The Maldon Mud Race has for years been held over the Christmas period, but in the last couple of years it has been held in April as, it was thought, this would guarantee better weather.
This was not the case today............lashing with rain, gale force wind and numbing cold! The route of the race was changed and instead of running across the river and back, they ran along the bank.
