Earlier start today. He's already been on the move for over an hour - heading along the A14 towards Bury St Edmunds.
Tweet from yesterday hints at maybe a big day today: https://twitter.com/steve_abraham74/status/651157806557429760/photo/1

Go Steve!
Needing 240+ to average out over the two days at a Godwin, though... (and a fair bit more to make some progress towards the Godwin Line and beyond)
-
Allez Steve
Can't wait to see the cunning plan.
-
Is it as cunning as a fox that's been to cunning school?
-
I thought there was a cycling ban on the A14.

I thought there was a cycling ban on the A14.
The tracker doesn't have any points on the A14 - google route has taken parallel roads.
-
There should a vehicle ban on the A14.
Dreadful road that I am forced to use too often. A motorway in all but name and financing.
-
Least don't get all the traffic through thapston as used to before a14
-
Steve appears to be currently approaching Lincoln so perhaps his visit to the coast last night was part of the cunning plan. Question is where might be the other end of this plan be?
Go Steve Go!
-
Cycling to Ardnamurchan point, in the hope the wind will have turned by the time he gets there?
-
Crossed my mind too!
Few years since I was at Ardnamurchan Point, agree the weather might be better there!
-
he's practically in my back yard, its got very grey and dark over here in the last hour 6-7pm, looks like a lot of rain on the way
-
Nice to see Steve breaking free from East Agnia for a change. Er, is he expecting a north wind tomorrow?
-
I think he's heading to a Travelodge in Goole. Where he'll :hand:.
GO STEVE!! ;D
-
I would wager that having sampled the delights of Doncaster recently he may be drawn back the Travel lodge at Doncaster Lakeside, although last time he was there I recall it was said it was a second best choice to York, which would have been out of time for the day.
Shame, as that's not far from me but I am at the other end of the country at present, otherwise I would have popped out for an evening spin.
-
looks like a lot of rain on the way
rain held off
-
Ok looks like delthebike is spot on. Goole for the night. Given the reports of heavy rain, I would guess Steve will be glad of a warm dry bed.
-
Is there a Travelodge in Goole? There's a Premier Inn, but he's now north of that. Unless he's going to loop back, perhaps he's heading somewhere closer to York.
-
I just don't know how he does it.... confounds me every time.
-
On strava, 373.9km - well done Steve!
That must be 232miles, a good day at the office!
-
Not too bad Steve keep doing as best you can soon be up to minimum of 206 per day needed.
Let's hope good days a plenty for October
-
...and November, December, January, February, etc
-

Are you sure about that? It's hard to imagine Goole having anything 'premier'.
-
My rule for hotels: If it has to use an adjective in its name to describe how good it is, it probably isn't.

+1
Keep going Steve !

Hate to be a Jeremiah, but he's still in deficit to the Godwin Line for the two days put together. A day of 214 today would only serve to give a three-day average of 206 - ideally Steve would want a much bigger day to make inroads in TG's 'lead'...
GO STEVE!

Ha. Brilliant. Funny because we all know it to be true!
-
That cunning plan wouldn't be to bounce back and forth between Ipswich and York for a few days would it? A week of 230 mile days would be a great boost and put you 80+ miles ahead of WR pace.

Fully agree with above. Unless he ups his mileage then come winter he'll get way way behind the 206 minimum and trying to catching up will not be easy at all ???
GO STEVE!

I was thinking the same ... the elevation was much what I would like to see for his purposes too.
-
I rode the Cambridge York Cambridge permanent with a few others OTP several years ago. Not my cup of tea, way too flat. But it could suit Steve's purposes really well to do something along those lines.
-
A day of 214 today ...
Great riding, Steve!
