It's not a Govt one though, isn't that epetitions? Also it has a link for 'outside the US', I'd guess that the Daiy Mail readers haven't found it yet.

I'd also be inclined to ask that this thread be moved to Vroom, so that it doesn't show up on Google. The less publicity for this kind of ignorant nonsense the better.

Perhaps we should start a petition that pedestrians should check before they step into the road.    Maybe then they wouldn't get hit by a cycle.   Cav may have won BBC Sportsperson of the year but there's obviously still a long way to go in changing the general public's perceptions.

According to the OP (OP= Original Petitioner) the cyclists are on the pavement so there would be no point in checking for them on the road.

The wording of the petition makes it fairly exclusive.

You would have to be 68 years old.

You would neither drive nor cycle.

You would have had to be hit from behind by a cyclist whilst trying to cross a road.

I'm not surprised only one person has signed.

You would have to have complete lack of logic (keeping bikes off the road to stop accidents happening on the pavement).

You would have to think "any other wheeled vehicle has to" be licenced and registered
