There were men in Triathlete as well, I only really saw the strapping lasses with big shoulders.

Yeah I'm with you Lizzie, we weren't really represented in the last couple of issues; and I can only remember one issue where women-specific bikes were tested.  Cycling is a brill sport/hobby for women, and when young women/girls take too little exercise anyway, it would be nice to encourage us.  The five miles to fabulous thing the CTC are doing is great and if they do it next year I intend to get involved and organise something near me.

I don't know what the answer is, when women are in the minority.  I do know I work as hard as anyone, when  it comes to earning the subscription money for C+.

I just got the latest C+; I hear what is said above, but I found it a very good issue: Lovely super bike in (Schmolke?), great TdF supplement, nice kit review and medical article. For me it is rather good. Cannot complain. At all!

Notice that when there is a test that include a small-wheeler they show pics with a gurl on it. Usually dressed in casual clothes and/or pastel colours while the men straddle big wheel racing bikes in full team outfit!
Of course these pics never make it to the website:

Not C+ but a good example:

I guess small wheel bikes i the UK are only used by gurlz? Or does it display other preconceived ideas about girlz or small wheelers... ???

Great bike Scott! And finally a picture to prove the distorted image of small-wheelers C+ is portraying. Almost grown up men ride them to!
I'll write them first thing tomorrow. ;)

"almost grown up" might be generous in my case....

Are cycling caps and sunglasses gender-specific?

I'm sure most women have much smaller heads than men (except me, that is, who has a head the size of a well inflated medicine ball :()and, even if the caps are not perceived as gender specific, the photos were all of a man (quite a nice looking one, mind you  ;D)

Id say caps are gender specific mens ones tend to be so big I look like a kid playing dress up.

I've just written to Cyling Plus mag for a bit of a rant.
Since the new look magazine came out, women's cycling has all but disappeared from the radar.

This month there are, for men, tests on:

21 jerseys,

6 cycling caps

16 pairs of sunglasses

5 other items of men's clothing and shoes.

By contrast, there are, in total, 4 women's jerseys on test.

I am very cross  >:(

Any other gurl readers similarly irritated?

Thighs and tights and a caption:

It is simpler than it looks.

yebbut, small wheeled folders are easier than big wheeled bikes to ride when you are wearing a skirt (do not ask how I know this).

So...? Stick a guy in a kilt on it and turn over the macho-gear to the gurlz!  ;D

I thought the best thing in the last issue of C+ I saw (I think it was the April issue) was the route guides.
Riding a concrete path through the nebulous and chaotic future.
