Brand-new Cateye Strada fell off
« on: 30 June, 2008, 08:22:39 pm »
...my son's bike, only the second day out.  He's adamant he'd got it properly snapped home on the bracket but I reckon it couldn't be, because when I tried it the snap seemed to be working OK.

Before he could recover it a car ran over it, shattering the LCD  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Is there any way of getting a replacement for the computer (wireless) body alone - i.e. not the cradle, transmitter, magnet, etc, and could there be any cost saving?  Seems you can order just about any spare part except that bit.  Strange, because I'm sure it's more often than not the computer itself that gets nicked or lost!  Maybe it just wouldn't be any cost-saving.

You could do worse than give Paul Smith a call at Bike+.
Conversely, last Friday I took delivery of a two part bracket and rubber pad for my Strada which I had managed to b0rk through some exceptional ham-fisted-ness.
I think Paul may have a spare screen and transmitter knocking around at the moment.  ;)
