Anyone done the Polish/East German coast?
« on: 06 July, 2008, 09:51:29 am »
The Michelin maps between Rostock and Gdansk show lots of coastal campsites. The main roads are some distance inland and the area is called the "Polish Riviera" on some websites.

Anyone got cycling knowledge of that region?

Thanks.

I haven't been there but it is catching my imagination at the moment. I'm thinking about a Tour of the Baltic but visiting Auschwitz which isn't by the sea

Maybe I should have done, but I haven't! I've never heard it described as the Polish Riviera, but there are some nice seaside towns, as well as historic port cities such as Gdansk. A bit further in/on are historic Teutonic knights' castles, Malbork, Lembork. And the sea's mostly pretty clean, apparently.
