The most splendid new word
« on: 16 July, 2008, 01:29:10 pm »
I have found the most splendid new word and thought I ought to share:

Beerboarding:

Quote
1.    beerboarding

A controversial process of extracting otherwise-secret information from a friend or co-worker by getting them drunk and thereby loosening their control on their tongue.

The guys at work took me out drinking last night. After quite a few beers and a lot of questions I finally let slip that I was going to be a father. What can I say? Beerboarding should be against the law.

You're going to be a father Charlotte. This new learning amazes me!

Suddenly I am in favour of torture!

* As a Red Cross volunteer I feel compelled to point out that this is not true, torture is very naughty indeed, and that the cultural trend towards making light of it is actually kinda worrying, but then again, buying me a beer isn't torture.  It's a delicious frosty brew.  Mmmm, brew...
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

I'm sure it's okay if it's consensual, Andy. ;)

I've been both a victim and a perpetrator of beerboarding in the past.  I know more about my former housemates than I need to - very useful for if they ever become famous!

I suspect that if there's ever a public inquiry into illegal Beerboarding, the prime suspects will be these guys:
