Sea and Levels 200 perm Lyme Regis
« on: 14 March, 2012, 09:12:24 am »
I am thinking of doing this one possibly in May. Anyone ridden it care to comment on what its like? I dont mind hills but would struggle on a 200 with more than about 2500 meters of climb.(Maybe 3000 with extra flapjack  ;D)

If anyone had a link to the route plotted on a mapping website I would be very grateful for it. It takes me longer to plot a 200 than  to ride one.

Yebbut, Lyme Regis is at the bottom of a hole, so you have a bugger of a climb just to get started. Route does look pretty benign though, especially by Ian's standards.

OK thanks. I will be starting/finishing at Clevedon which puts the climb out of Lyme Regis straight after lunch ,should help the digestion....  May opt for a late lunch somewhere after the big climb if possible.

Town Mill Bakery in Lyme Regis is worth a stop for Coffee
and one of their fine Eccles cakes should help get you back up the hill.

The Bottle Inn at Marshwood is / was a good pub for food, not too far from Lyme,
not sure if it's open these days though.
