Cor, there's some cracking events on in Wooler in May!

Anyone else love the North Country (south of The Wall)?

Never been but it's on the bucket list...

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

Yep, land of my fathers, and a long way further back than that!  There's even a family village and castle!
Love the place. I'd move up there at the drop of a hat.
We are going to walk the wall from Coast to Coast in August for a bit of fun!

Was hugely impressed when we  had our winter hostel week end up there last year and would like to revisit.

Was there in March, visiting Lindisfarne on a very windy day.  We crossed as soon as the causeway was clear, early in the day and almost had the place to ourselves to begin with.

They have these ancient upturned half-boats they use as sheds:

Also could see Bamburgh Castle:

On our return trip the wind was whipping the sea across the causeway - it was a bit like being an Israelite crossing the Red Sea. Well, it is Holy Island!

Know it very well. Used a picture of Crag Lough as cover art for one of my novels. And Wooler is a long way NORTH of the Wall....

Ah. The boats, by the way, are called 'cobles'. And if you are on Lindisfarne, watching cuddy's ducks, don't ever name the animal with the curly tail, that bacon beast the one that gives us ham.
