John, that's really bad news.  All the best with your treatment.

Thanks peter, this along with the world's end and
Imber, would have been the highlights of the year for me. I'll start again in the new year.

I'm camping near Matlock so might even be able to get back to see the Night-time stuff (Chiz, if I'd thought about it could have done the perm version on the day and started at Matlock?)

Thank to John for an excellent audax.  This ranks as one of the best - special mention to Peter for

continued humour and encouragement.  Always good to meet up with old friends and make some

new ones.

cheers

steve (digglecyclist). :)

You certainly got lucky with the weather!

I was out for a short ride myself yesterday and definitely saw a few participants on the roads, some not always heading in what I thought would be the right direction!

excellent event; any excuse to get back to the Peaks and this was a cracker;

very pleasant and completely flat first 100 then it just ramps up and up and up. Loved the High Peak Trail and would have loved the descent off Cat and Fiddle if I'd remembered my f-off Lezyne  ::-) but the borrowed one managed to stay on for the trickiest bits;

fantastic organisation & food at the start, finish and of course the Van of Delights  :P

rounded off the weekend with some excellent National Trust properties and steam engines  8)

Thanks John Peter and all your crew  :thumbsup:

Thanks again, John for another excellent event.  I really enjoyed it; a fantastic day out.  It goes without saying that it is a first class route.  The weather could not have been better and the setting sun over Macclesfield as I descended the Cat and Fiddle was amazing.  The food on the way round, and especially at the end, was just what was required.  Absolutely brilliant.  Many thanks again to you and all your helpers!

Another thank you to John, Peter and the ladies in the kitchen. Excellent day indeed.

You had time to observe the setting sun? You weren't going fast enough  :)

Come on, you couldn't miss it!  The full moon over my left shoulder was a bit more difficult to appreciate.

My thanks also to John and everyone who helped on my first 200.  What a fantastic day in spite of the lumpy bits after a very pleasant spin through the Cheshire countryside.  The sun was just above the horizon at the Cat & Fiddle and just got back before it was fully dark.  Great food at the end, particularly the apple pie & custard.

Many thanks to John and team for a wonderful day out on the bike.  The route, company, TLC, hospitality, etc were as superb as usual but I am not convinced by the wandering minstrel you seemed to have brought along  ;)

The weather could not have been much better and the visibility looking south just before the last climb to the Cat and Fiddle was fantastic.  It might have been fantastic on the way down from the C&F but I was having too much fun bombing back to Macclesfield to try to finish in the light.

Another fun bit was taking a tow off a tractor with an enormous trailer 5k after Bunbury and passing several audaxers at 30mph with a big grin on my face.  This cheered me up no end after my abrupt and inelegant dismount on the Middlewich roundabout  :facepalm:

Aha - the desired effect!  The conversation inside the van went something like this:-

JayP:  "Pete, that JonBuoy's already had three pieces of Rocky Road - get out there with your ukulele!"

Glad you had a good time.

So taking advantage of outside assistance then.  Hmmm.
