A US friend of mine has just fitted some to a folder, and was amazed at the distance people are giving when overtaking now.

Easy to make - just buy some cold cathode tubes, like for tarting up PC cases (the games extreme type with clear windows) and a battery pack.  Then sort some waterproofing, or only use them in the dry.
