Excellent - I'll be really interested to see if you get a similar result.
From this morning, I've noticed the effect is much less in twilight (as you'd expect). But got very similar results this evening - dark but less misty than yesterday.
I think one of the things that I find most surprising, is cars are MUCH more hesitant to pass me. They tend to slow down and follow for much further than they normally would. Or perhaps drivers have become more timid the last couple of nights

It can't be because I am dazzling them, because the dazzle effect is much less this way, than with the light pointed back (and slightly up) as it has been previously. I think it is because the red patch buggers up their perception of the width of the bike, making it feel much wider.
I think there may also be an effect when they are far back, and can only see my lights, and the patch on the road - they can't work out what I am, so have to slow down. Once slowed, there is less of a need to pass quickly.
