Seems to me that you packed a bit early - it's Ok for southern Jessies like me but I thought you northern types were made of tougher stuff.

I think John its case of knowing when not to go into the hills and when to turn around go home and leave it for another day is more important than putting other people lives at risk!

btw I totally agree with you on hill safety being paramount at all times.

I've sent the link for the Marple arearide to a quite elderly uncle of mine to have a look.  He was a very keen & serious time trialler many years ago and still maintains an interest in the cycling world.
