OK, I have licence for this.

Probably travel up Fri PM / return Sun sleeper, so keeping an eye on train tickets - any other soft southern jessies ;) interested (esp. for sleeper return)?
I'd offer you some moral support - but I have questionable morals.

Welcome to easy street. My partner tells me I am  a real softy. I qualify as a southern jessie as because I was born in Plymouth in 1945 to celebrate the sinking of the Bismark as my old man was reputedly involved and came home on leave just full of it. I will be there to cement my reputation for softness.

This may be a really stupid question, but is this ride hard (for a 600)?. I am looking to do a relatively easy one for my first ever 600.

Unknown; comment elsewhere says it's flat(ish), it's the lowlands, so no vastly big lumps, I don't do UP...

You'll be fine ;D

IMO a relatively easy 600 is one that provides a sleep stop and has terrain that suits you. Only For Softies returns to base part way through  which means you could maybe kip in your car or a strategically placed tent. You can carry only stuff you need for the first 'loop' and re load or swap round or deposit stuff as you pass your 'depot'.

The Three Coasts 600 does this too, which was my first 600 and worked very well. I actually considered a different bike for the second loop, it would be completed in daylight so no lights would be needed and for 225km I would need to carry much at all. At least one riders deposited his dynamo hub wheel for a lighter one.
