Author Topic: Sunday 23rd January 2011 - Lewes Wanderers CC Reliability Trial  (Read 1625 times)

Dear All,

For those that don't know, this looks like a good event and it costs a whole £2 in advance.  The route sheet looks infinitely better than the recent ESCA Reliability Trial  in November, where I seemed to have a whole chain of riders on my tail because no one else had a map.  Regards  The Borg

The Lewes Wanderers CC Reliability Trial will be held on Sunday 23rd
January 2011.

The trial will be held over a 48.6mile circuit, starting & finishing
at East Hoathly Sports Pavilion.

The circuit heads West towards Piltdown before meandering down towards
the coast to the Control at the top of 'High & Over' (refreshments

before turning North past The Long Man & back to the HQ at East Hoathly
where refreshments will again be available.

First group with a target time of 4:00 hrs will start at 08:30. Other
target times will be 3:30 or 3:00 hrs starting at 08:45 & 09:00
respectively.

the morning after my club dinner; not a race is it?  looks about as tough as the ESCA in terms of time (finished that 30 min up)

yes I'm in for this one; will try to rope some more of EGCC in

4 hours is just over 12mph average.  If you finished 30min up on the ESCA then this will be a breeze. I only finished 10min up on the ESCA and I wasn't exactly meandering.  Waiting around on a street corner for 10mins is not recommended.  Now with 30mins to spare the pub definitely beckons.

There's only a 10 minute time finishing window on this event so this looks quite tough.

I went for the 4.15 and finished in 3.43 (spent the next 32 mins in the pub watching the field roll in)
