LIDL Clapham Junction had no tool kits (of either sort) or track pumps (there were rumours there would be some) so I walked out empty handed.

I walked out of my local branch with a packet of 14 Viscount biscuits for a pound.  That's the best cycling equipment they had.

Surprised to find two pairs of shoes in size 9 - in different colours, so one pair can be for TGL and one for me.  We picked up a couple of jackets and some shorts too.  Clapham Junction branch.
Getting there...

The Streatham Vale brancj usually has loads of stuff long after everwhere else has run out.

I bought a new pair of socks, they were excellent. Very lightweight material on the upper, excellent cushioing underneath. I now have loads of pairs of socls, so won't buy another pair, but these are recommended.

The gloves look good too.

Couldn't see the spoke reflectors.

Trying looking with a headtorch after the shop is closed.  :)

Headsup: Lidl bike stuff this Thursday (2012-03-22).

I can highly recommend the 24-piece tool kit, and the gloves.

Also bike stuff at Clas Ohlsen, I noticed in Croydon yesterday (oh the glamour!).

Tyres, helmets and other meh stuff, but a decent looking workstand, and un-pannier-y panniers, if that's your thing.
Getting there...

Kim, the one in Selly Oak.  Is that Lidl or Aldi? I always go to the wrong one.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

The one in Selly Oak is an Aldi.  I don't know where the Lidl is.

There's one also in Moseley, opposite what used to be the Dance Centre.

Ok, thanks.  Is there a new one opposite Edgbaston CCC?

That's an Aldi.  Fairly sure King[']s Heath is the nearest Lidl.

I was thinking of getting a new water bottle, but they aren't really pretty. Maybe I'll get one for the SO, since they are such a deal. The Waterproof cycling jacket looks nice, though. It has so many pockets. Hope they still have one in turquoise when I get there.

Never thought of getting a bike hoist, though I have to admit it looks interesting. Can't put it above the leather sofa, though since that would be impractical. How to safe space with this when the ceilings aren't that high? Maybe it would be good in the garage...

I have one of those from Lidl, used regularly for six years or so and still works fine. I also have quite high ceilings tho.

Just read the destructions for the bike hoist. Says its for storage only, not for bike maintenance.

Yeah right.
