A group of us are going to 3 Days De Panne via the Dunkirk ferry. I'm after advice on a cycle route Dunkirk Ferry Port - De Panne & return which avoids the refugee camps in the area. Travelling light & quick, paved roads and easy navigation please.

Came back that way in April, just follow the D road past the canal; not too busy and no room for tents!

Do you mean D601 (i.e. dead straight along a canal, straight through Grande Synthe and then right (N) to the port?
Or D60, wiggling closer to the coast, then DI over a canal and round by the sea to the port?

D601 I think; there aren't many roads between the two countries as there used to be a border control there pre Shengen; now a flower stall (or derelict)
It was a quiet enough road on a Sunday night but a bit of a contrast to the Belgain coast road, which was even more of a contrast to Netherlands all in the same day
take breathing apparatus for the D1 road from the ferry to Dunkerque
Grand Synthe is further but much nicer
