Which is the preferred image hosting site for the forum ?

Hi all. Being that there is no upload icon on the list of boxed options available that would allow me to upload images from my own PC,as per the subject heading which is the preferred one please.
I have always considered image hosting sites as more than a 'bit of a faff' and have much preferred the more more simplistic route favoured by many other forums.

Short answer:  Hosting images would mean the forum would become orders of magnitude more expensive (and more work) to host, and expose the admins to legal risks (should illegal or copyrighted images be uploaded).  So they've gone for the more simplistic route of leaving us to link to images elseweb.

You don't have to use an image hosting site.  You can just chuck things in a directory on a webserver.

There is no preferred site. You can link in from anywhere. I use Flickr, people used to use Photobucket until it started charging, as Kim says, if you have access to your own (or someone else's) server you can just use that.

Not Photo*ucket.  Have they gone bust yet?

The best way is via your own webspace but not all ISPs provide this now.
