It's a BRM event so a fixed 75h time limit applies, no allowance for over-distance.

Yeah, it's 75 hours.

And don't forget 4-5 km of the extra distance is a ferry. I've ridden 200s with more overdistance than that :)

I'm starting to make plans for this, working on the theory that no matter what the government guidance on the apocalypse is by then, there's a significant chance I'll be self-isolating on the bike for 3 days anyway so no reason it won't go ahead. :D

I'm stockpiling jelly babies just in case there's a run on them between now and 7th May. Any chance the scaremongers might cancel the Greenock ferry? ::-)

Thanks Dean,  I'm not worried, just getting some kind of schedule together and wanted to be sure on the 75hrs
No point in performing an ITT for the last 10k when you don't need to. DAMHIKT  :facepalm:

<Looks at calendar>

...

Any chance of putting this back a month Deano? Or two maybe ...
I'd like to point out that - between named storms - I have actually ridden my bike shitloads since this post.

SO if you are planning to cancel this event - El Deano - I may have to deploy my MkIII Paddington Stare. You've been warned!

I've had to postpone this event - I've emailed all the entrants, and I'll look for a date to organise it later in the year.

Bit of a pisser, but I can't see how it can go ahead at the moment.

I am aware this event is postponed, but I've been sent information about overnight use of the pedestrian tunnel under the Tyne which may be of use for the ride's new date, or of use to anyone riding overnight in the area.

Outside of virus restrictions, the normal overnight service is a shuttle bus which can take bikes.

That situation is planned to remain until the refurbishments are 100 percent completed, which given the history of the project, could be years.

During virus restrictions, the shuttle bus has been replaced by a taxi service, which cannot take bikes.
