Went to give a talk on Wed. night. Was told I looked quite fit by someone in the audience I hadn't seen in a while.

(That must be those 135 Mi of commute per week )

BT actually managed to repair the phone line yesterday, so I've got a working ADSL line this weekend, and can post on yacf. ;D

I also just picked up a rather nice little Jtek Afline bar end lever from the Post Office, which is the first part of my next bike
Actually, it is rocket science.

I got out on the bike for a brief, wet & windy ride today - first for over a week! :o

Bad news: I dropped my bike when I was wheeling it on a pedestrian refuge

Good news: The reason I'd abandoned it so swiftly was to run up to the window of a van driver in the middle of a junction, turning right, and yell 'PUT IT DOWN, YOU MORON!' at him.  He dropped the phone & shat his pants.  I can shout very loud.
Getting there...

And got a thumbs up from the pasenger in the car behind that had been trying to follow him as he weaved across the road at a busy junction ::-).

Despite a mild hangover (evidence of a social life - good news in itself!) I went to Bradford today, with NO children, and had a whole day to myself.  I saw many people with heavily loaded bikes getting off the train.  No idea what they were up to, although one had a banner about climate change, but they all seemed cheerful and returned my nod&smile despite my having absolutely no visible signs of belonging to the people-who-like-two-wheels-and-pedalling-club.  I mooched around Bradford town centre in pleasant weather without having to think about anybody else's needs at all.  I pootled aroung the National Media Museum looking at whatever I fancied.  I had a delicious lunch in the museum cafe on my own whilst reading a good book, and the nice bloke in the cafe sold me a large coffee with an extra espresso shot for the hangover for the price of a small ordinary coffee, which I drank whilst watching the rain that wasn't getting me wet because I was indoors sitting on a comfy sofa, reading and people watching.  I saw some really lovely films as part of the Animation Festival.  My friend won an award in the Young Animators competition.  I got a nice seat, with a table, on the train there and on the train home and there were no obnoxious grumpy people at all on the train.

I had a lovely day.  Although I do still feel very slightly hungover....

I now have a lovely piece of lilac sheepskin nappa, to go with my Veg-Tan tooling shoulder.  Once I've made sufficient quantities of copperas solution, my black messenger bag will slowly come into being.   :)

Hmm, Stainless Steel or Brass fittings...?

Stainless Steel, undoubtedly. If you use marine quality then they won't succumb to perspiration induced corrosion . . .

Two bits of good news ...

My new Carradice Barley has arrived together with SQR and looks grand.  The Magic Bag Lite TM has been born.

The Current Mrs R has a job interview next week.  She has a job already but wants a better one.  She is cacking herself but will be fine.

Considering that my recent calorie surplus has pushed me very close to 18 stone again, I had a reasonably fast ride today, averaging 10.5 mph over 66 miles.
