Hello, I am Bruce link=topic=27141.msg360227#msg360227 date=1168259616]
I was playing with Google's Calculator, and came up with a formula for calculating cadence that I thought I'd share.

Just go to Google and type in

((SPEED miles per hour)/(CIRCUMFERENCE metres) * (SPROCKET/CHAINRING) in (minutes ^ -1)

with appropriate values for your SPEED, wheel CIRCUMFERENCE, and SPROCKET and CHAINRING tooth counts.

e.g.

((31 miles per hour) / (2.155 metres)) * (19/49) in (minutes ^ -1)

Gives 149.6 rpm.

("minutes ^ -1" just means rpm).

You can change the units, e.g. speed in km/h, or circumference in furlongs, and Google with handle it automatically.

A bit specialised but the best choice of sprockets for those of us that use s/s cassette conversions and some fixed stuff as well.

Some useful stuff. One of the first places I saw an Eccentrica (hope I spelled that right) eccentric bb conversion. The shop part of singlespeed.nl which is now just a blog, it appears. One of the sources of Surly stuff if you are in continental Europe.

Yes, very good - bought a fair few bits from him. Mainly MTB and SS though, but can supply e.g. Surly rings and cogs.

As already mentioned, Charlie is great.
The selection of hats varies from month to month, I am keeping an eye out in case I ever feel like spending £20 on a nice cycling cap such as the Yehuda Moon style ones.

And I can vouch for the fact that he (or his wife) gets stuff posted out to you asap, they're very swift. You'll usually receive stuff the next day, Royal Mail permitting, even if you order at 4pm.

Yeah, it's free hosting and it is a bit crappy.

It is also full of robot-generated porn links (if you know where to look ;)) and whilst I've been able to keep these out the public areas there seems no way of disinfecting the dark corners of the site

I must look at sensible hosting for it, but since no-one's paying...

The all new singing-dancing yacf hosting may be able to help.

I prescribe more robot-generated porn links.  That'll get it back up again.

Hubjub has ceased trading.  It may be resurrected under different owners, but the link would have to be changed in any case.

It was bought by Heart Of Wales Bikes and the website continues to look roughly like it did before.

The new owners have been getting very good feedback on LFGSS too: http://www.lfgss.com/thread26644-3.html
