It's a bit late, but I would have gone with using Crypto type names, eg Alice, Bob, Charlie, Dick etc, although you'd have to use the female variants, say Alice, Bobette, Carol and and so forth. Failing that Chicken One, Chicken Two, Chicken Three, and Chicken Four.

(Of course, from a Black Adder perspective, Bob is a female name).

That is Chilli ( the replacement for Pepper who was eaten by a fox). She is a speckled cuckoo. Behind her in left to right are Muddy (Black Rock), Sugar (Sussex Light and the biggest bully of the lot) and Mocca (Northern Blue - supposed to lay blue eggs though they are brown with a very faint sheen that might be blue if you were looking for it).
