Old bike transfers - Carlton

Being the family bike geek has some advantages especially when family members ask if you wouldn't mind renovating a bike for them.  Would I mind?  Not if someone else is paying!

Anyone know where I can find transfers for a circa 1976 Carlton frame?  It's 531 tubing, and I presume most specialist resprayers (I had Bob Jackson in mind) would be able to provide appropriate Reynolds transfers.

Looking on eBay gets a whole load of Vauxhall related things...

Most framebuilders are now running a bit short of period Reynolds transfers.  Do check.

I've definitely seen Carlton transfers on ebay a few times.  However Jacksons (and probably Mercian etc) have stocks of fairly common transfers, or else can get them made up.

Selecting the "Cycling" category (on the left) thins out eBay search results.  But there's only one decent Carlton decals item there at the moment, and it's 1960s:

I presume most specialist resprayers (I had Bob Jackson in mind) would be able to provide appropriate Reynolds transfers.

Mine came back from them with "653 Renovated" decals - fine by me, but be aware if you're going for 100% period correct.

thanks for that - I have been able to identify that the bike is probably a bit more recent than originally suspected (but still in the 70s).
