Ah, t'is the time of year for Plumtree holibobs (part the first)!  Hurrah! A season possibly only eclipsed by those occasional delightful celestial alignments that result in simultaneous Plumtree/Larrington expotitions.

*settles down to a couple of days of antici.......pation*

Oh, beautiful.

I was showing some colleagues your Flickr feed the other day Bill, and they were all completely blown away by some of your work.

Oh, almost forgot.  Git.

Found myself in Marseille on business and these ponts were just asking to be photographed:

Coastal railway viaduct, L'Estaque

Seemingly pointless footbridge to nowhere, Vieux Port, Marseille

Pretend drawbridge, Basilica N.D. de la Garde, Marseille

Spectacular footbridge between the old fort and the new museum, Marseille

They laughed when I said I was going to be a stand-up comedian. They're not laughing now.

*Middlesbrough.

One of the many good things about that bridge is that it minimises the time I have to spend in 'Boro.

In one of his books on Yorkshire places ,Roy Hattersley once said that if there was a World Championship in boarding up windows, then Middlesbrough would win every time.

Does this count?  It carries nothing more than itself across the road and plaza, but there's a span and stuff going underneath it.  Las Setas (i.e. the toadstools) in Sevilla.
