Conan The Barbarian.

I've never watched this before. Suffice to say, I've still not watched All of it. Mr Smith almost cheered when I finally said "no, enough. I cannot watch any more of this"

Airplane.

Apart from the stereotypes, and the archaic placement shots, there are about 15 jokes.

This could have been done in a 20 min sketch show.

Plus... when did a 4 engine jet plane ever sound like a prop one?!
Still one of my favouritist fillums.

Yes, I know I'm shallow.
There's no vibrations, but wait.

Which one? Arnie or Momoa?

The Arnie one is a classic. Quite funny in places too.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Tremors 7: Shrieker Island

Jurassic park with a hint of 'Nam.  OMG they killed Burt!  (Does this mean they can stop making Tremors movies now?)

Spider-Man No Way Home. Haven't seen a cinema so busy for a 9.30am showing before.

Enjoyed it

No Time To Die

I had low expectations, and was pleasantly surprised.  Could have been about an hour shorter.

West Side Story (the new one).

Some bits seemed a bit clunky, but overall it was good. The music was vey well done, the acting was plausible and the dance routines were superb.

Mortal Engines, because MrsT didn't know what steampunk meant (IKYN). No, she's not in a coma, she just doesn't pay much attention to that sort of thing.

Apart from that: ripping CGI, the CG dialogue wasn't so great but at least nobody got tasked.  But you knew all that.

The "normal" image of punk isn't the same as the punk that is in steampunk and when I see steampunk I rarely see steam. oh well, never mind, it's rather fun to look at :)

Isn't the term steampunk (and all subsequent technology-punks) derived from 'cyberpunk', which wasn't really punk either, but you can at least see how they got there.

No, I don't see where the Sex Pistols meet H.G.Wells either.  Rock is rather the antithesis of steampunk, which needs something like Pomp & Circumstance as background music.

Considering the dystopian futures usually depicted in $technology-punk, it could be argued that the "punk" part stems more from the nihilism rather than the raucous music or spiky-haired aesthetic sensibilities of the punk scene.

Arguably, any $technology-punk sub-genre where the tech-level is lower than what the reader is living in really ought to be considered to be retrofuturism, but then again, "steampunk" is less of a mouthful and sounds more edgy than "Victorian Retrofuturism", and you'd probably struggle to get anyone to run with "1930s-1940s retrofuturism" instead of "dieselpunk".
