I've got some Gusset Slim Jim pedals, taken the end cap off, and there is a nut there. I can only get at it with a socket (it's recessed into the body of the pedal). It starts off feeling like it's loosening, but never gets much looser. I could turn the socket wrench all day and it won't come off.
For now I can just ride the pedal with a slight click (most likely because that nut needs to be a bit tighter) but it would be good to remove it and see whether the nut is borked or whether the axle thread is too (hopefully not). Any suggestions for how I can get this nut off?
