Mordor Italian Restaurant Recommendations?
« on: August 21, 2014, 06:19:55 pm »
My mum is in a Sunrise home in Birmingham, and every so often we'd take her out for a meal, the favourite being Saleem's on the Ladypool Road.

Sadly, this establishment is now no more.  Saleem himself told us that demographic changes to the area meant that business had been declining for years and was no longer viable.  Very sad.

So, we're on the lookout for other likely eateries, and we all like Italian.

Any recommendations for good Italian places, not too far from Edgbaston, and with reasonable parking, and suitable for a good lunch, rather than an evening out?

If you're within striking distance of Ladypool Road, how about trying http://baderrestaurant.co.uk. I went there a year or two back and seem to remember it went down well. (There might also be an Italian opposite.)

We liked Sahara on Moseley Road for French Moroccan https://www.facebook.com/saharabirmingham/info?ref=page_internal

Sorry, I realise that doesn't really address your actual question

No worries - Sahara looks very interesting.  I like the North African food I've tried.
