Missed this, the rub was I have eaten better all you can eat carvery that has been kept under a heat lamp.

In a wow moment, I was taken to a cafe style place today (in France, formica tables and canned drinks) and had a roast of sorts, well steak slices and steamed veg, for 8euro  cooked on charcoal.  Left in the warm kitchen while the veg steams.
