I'm at work today.
My next day at work will be the 5th January 2009.
I also be staying as far away from computers in that period.
I'll send a postcard from here though.
Back home with some 1200 photos and a lot more memories.
Buenos Aires, day trip to Colonia in Uruguay, down to Videma, 18 hour overnight Tren Patagonico to Bariloche, Ruta de los Siete Lagos to San Martin de los Andes, over the border to Chile and Puerto Montt, a 72 hour ferry down through the Fjords past a glacier or two and round the bottom of the Andes to Puerta Natales, 2 marathons worth of trekking in 5 days in Torres del Paine National Park (just do a Google Image search), Ushuaia (the southern most city in the world), back up to Punta Arenas, up to Santiago for a few days, back into Argentina and Mendoza wine country, Cordoba, Posadas and the Jesuit Misiones, Puerto Iguazu and the Garganta del Diablo (another Google Image search) from both Argentinian and Brazilian sides, back to Buenos Aires and home.
I've seen snow, glaciers, 6000m+ high mountains, 40 degree heat and 100% humidity, 4 countries, swum in the Pacific and Atlantic, and various lakes containing icebergs, seen a 2.7km wide set of waterfalls, dolphins, penguins, caiman, condors, 2 football matches (including the play-off final of the Argentinian season) and lots and lots of bonkers scenery.
It's chilly back home but I like that.
