I think I've a few people out to ride this on Saturday the 30th of April, but more nutters always welcome. A 300 km around the Dales with a piss-easy finish excepting Walworth Bank and a flat main-road blast to start. Some hills in the middle, far from the toughest the Dales have to offer, and some very giving descents. I planned it as a good route to ride on fixed. Which it is.
The current plan is to start around 5 am in Newton Aycliffe, or around half five in Darlo. Approximately 17 hours with a quick coffee at the bakery in Boroughbridge, a garage stop in Ilkley, a slap-up meal at the Wharfe View Tea Room in Burnsall, another sit-down meal in Dent or Sedbergh, and a top-up at the Co Op in Middleton, with the Teesdale Hotel as an alternative.
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12731964I've tweaked my original route for a Newton Aycliffe start, but this may change to a Darlo start (and a slightly tougher route, but an easier finish) if the Aycliffe posse don't turn up.
