Installing rubbish assessment softyware.  Very manually, and very slowly.

Ah.... the joy of Wednesday.

Tidy.  Carbon forks and new bars on Il Pompino.  No more scary creaking.  Bars slightly higher than before, too, so a bit easier on the hands over 600km.

Waiting for domestic violence training to start and realising I know one of the trainers and have wanted to smack her for a long time.

That's not a great start.

Wait... they give training in domestic violence now?  In my day, lass, you had to learn on the job. ;)

I've never been there, though I admit to being tempted after the Toilets Of Taunton incident.

I imagine it as a giant sheddi warehouse full of every bracket, widget, pingfuckit and bit of sturdy touring kit you could possibly desire, so it's probably for the best that I don't.  It'll either end in disappointment, or worse, turn out to be completely true.  My bank account could never recover from the resulting bracketgasm.

Contemplating my navel a spreadsheet and a build document I really really need to get finished for lunchtime tomorrow.

Oh well, it looks like, as both Mrs T and TLD are out for the night I will be burning the midnight oil when I get back from MSG.

"The Southend flangebreaker".

That's not a reference to anything to do with cycling, though.

There were various staff Thorns parked onna rack inside, and the staff there are not the condescending whippet-like kind either, I'm sure they would give you a warm welcome

You might be slightly disappointed in that SJS isn't like a normal bike shop, they have no shop floor and no stock at all on display, but when you tell one of the friendly assistants sitting at their desks what it is you are after they will show you all the options on their screen then go and fetch stuff out of the warehouse for you to look at and choose from. It is a little bit like shopping on the internet only you can look at the stuff immediately and only pay for the things you decide you want and then you don't have to wait for them to be delivered  ;D

It isn't quite my LBS being 15 miles away, but they have a cracking range of stuff in stock and it's not a bad bike ride from here  :smug:

I assume you've missed that Wowbagger has an impressive track record for breaking Rohloffs (yes, plural!) and having Thorn replace them under warranty...

Argos-tastic.  Still, I suppose it makes sense - there's no way they could possibly afford enough shelf space to display all the clever little widgets they stock.
