That is a major point in learning a foreign language. When something is written down, or when you are writing it yourself, there is time to keep looking at and correcting/working it out.
When you say something FORN, you have time to rehearse it in your mind.
When a FORNER says something in FORN, unless you are good at non-verbal "WTF did that mean?" you get one and only one cherry-biting opportunity. That's the hardest bit, and that is what you should spend most of your time on when learning.
