Cycle shoes in walk on flight baggage

Has any one had problems with cycle shoes which have metal spd cleats fitted . Carried on to a flight in a 10 kg wheeled suit case . Just worried about security check .

According to British cycling you can carry cycle shoe in your hand luggage with pedals stuffed inside , hurrah . that's saved me  49 quid .
