Tribar Garmin Mounts
« on: 12 July, 2023, 08:44:10 am »
Anyone had any success with something like this?

https://www.profile-design-eu.com/collections/aerobar-accesseries/products/ucm-aerobridge-1

I'd like to fit the tribars to the Fairlight, but that would leave no room for the Garmin mount.  With this one here I'm not clear how the Garmin would actually mount to it and I'd also like to mount a camera.

My solution was a broken seatpost, a hacksaw, file and rattlecan paint finish.  Held in place with a cable tie.  It works well.  With time, patience and more skill than me you could even get it square to the bars  ::-)

Try Raceware Direct.

They made me a Tri Bar mount which fitted a Garmin on top and a light mount below for long TTs.

There are heaps of then around, Garmin do one too.
I prefer ones that mount to one side only, because otherwise it constrains the tri-bar spacing.

The one I have has a mount for a front light too, since the roolz changed and I needed a front light.
I'll see if I can find a link...

This is the one I have...

Not sure what handlebars you've got on your Fairlight, but the 31.8mm section on the stock FSA bars on my Strael actually extends quite far out from where the stem clamps on, which lets me mount the aerobars wide enough to squeeze a garmin out-front mount between the stem and the aerobar brackets. This is also more comfortable for me than having them mounted as narrow as they'll go up against the stem.

If you've already got one of the garmin mounts that is designed to have garmin on top and a varia light mounted beneath, you can get a varia mount -> gorpro adapter for the camera. Garmin/camera would be mounted a bit further from your face than if mounted to the aerobars, and it could clash with a handlebar bag etc., but might save buying a whole new mount/bracket.

Hope that all makes sense.

I have one of these

Various options depending on how wide you have them, and can also stick a gopro mount on the bottom.

I didn't use a bridge.  Plenty of room on the bar extensions

thanks all, I'm using the profile designs fixed width hooped tribars, and the issue is the width of the stem clamp rather than the space between the bar-mounts themselves.

I have an existing Garmin mount so may consider molishment with an odd bit of tubing that I have around - no stranger to that kind of thing being a recumbent rider.

You can get mounts which are designed to go on aerobars and work sideways.  Zipp makes one but there are others

Why not just use a stem mount?

That kind of thing would do the job well, just need to make sure I can get the camera on as well

I made the mistake of buying the official Garmin mount.  It won't go anywhere near my el cheapo deda parabolica uno bars, which have a diameter of around 26.3

Thumbs up from me also. Their standard kits are very flexible and they respond to my emails making sure that they would fit the particular measurements of my bike setup.
