Came home yesterday to find barakta dismantling a friend's laptop (which, thankfully, has a simple panel so you can get to the fan without a fuss).  Have been earwormed with Clean The Fan since.

In 1986 or thereabouts I got earwormed by a Peugeot radio commercial for the 205 Junior.  The beat fitted exactly to my pedalling cadence on a particular hill. The damned thing still comes back occasionally.  I can quote it word for word.

Had this earworm since hearing it on a radio documentary the other night (about drugs in music).  Can't get rid of it, so might as well listen to it properly:

Make up a few lines to follow the opening and take the tune and words in a different direction. Sing that a couple of times. Earworm cured!

My favourite current band from Billingham (well, Paul Smith is, and you can tell) have a new album out so I've been listening to almost nothing else this week.
I've got Leave this Island on loop in my head. It's grand.

Apart from Catharsis (and Maximo Park) have there been any other bands from Billingham? :)

My current earworm is "Demons" and "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons.

Demons:

Some idiot (well, actually a lovely bloke and a friend) on another forum quoted Rupert Holmes' Escape (The Pina Colada Song).  >:(

Useless trivia: Rupert Holmes isn't a one hit wonder.  But you couldn't do a PopMaster three in ten on him, either.

Maxïmo Park don't describe themselves as being from Billingham- I wouldn't admit it, either.

A couple of weeks ago I rode past some allotments and noticed how each little plot had its own tool shed which looked just like an outdoor toilet. For some reason thinking about tool sheds caused the word 'rucksack' to pop into my mind and then I was earwormed with The rucksack is a little old place where we can get together

'Ride my see saw' and 'Legend of a mind'

Last Christmas I gave you my heart, but the very next day you gave it away. This year, to save me from tears, I'll give it to someone special.

Much better, I can live with this one :)

On a side note: our local radio station plays that song at least three-five times a week, where before I only heard it when I put it on.
