I think you're just a grumpy old git looking for something to say you dislike  ;)

Nah, he's just a wannabe. ;)

ISTR Nutty said "just down the driveway" the last time the subject was up for discussion.
...

Yes, one saddle was just down the driveway.  I had to get off then as it was so agonisingly painful I wouldn't have ridden it any further.  How the hell anybody could have broken that in I don't know.

I think my longest ride to date on a brooks has been around 50 to 60 miles.  I suppose I could say the last bit of the ride was comfortable, but that's only because everything down there was completely numb and insensitive to touch.

I had a Brooks that I rode hundreds of agonising, tear-inducing miles in the promise that it would be 'Just a bit more' before it broke in.

It nearly put me off cycling completely, till I got rid of the thing and bought a Madison G12 gel with a lycra cover.

I did have a Lepper that came on my first Carlton.  That was OK, but it was so old, it just fell apart within a couple of months of buying it.

I have a Lycett from my Rudge, but I am reluctant to try it.  For the sake of verisimilitude, I have fitted the Rudge with a Brooks saddle :(
Getting there...

And what did you expect, with a name like that?  ;D

Right folks, an e-mail from Travelodge inviting me to book rooms for £29 per night has prompted me to make an executive decision.  I will organise the tour for Friday 19th February 2010.  I hope this is half term week, if it isn't Twinkle Toes can take a sicky (please forward to me without delay the YACF medal for Responsible Parenting).

I will get on to the factory and see if the date works for them.  If it doesn't we will have a fun couple of nights in Brum doing ... not a clue ... we'll work something out.

Please take part in the new poll so I can get an idea of numbers.

Fank you.

To confirm, I'm in for this.

I'm very up for this.
Also,  couple of spare rooms available in Bournville, but that depends on whether there is an upturn in the housing market before then.  I may have managed to sell the house, in which case - no rooms available.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Right then, I have just spoken to Steve Green at Brooks.  I have arranged for the tour to start at 1000 hours on Friday 19th February 2010.  A tour takes about an hour.  They shut down production on Friday afternoon but we wiill be long gone by then.

I will ask people to confirm attendence nearer the time.  Should be fun

I have made a diary note early in February to bounce this thread and ask people to confirm their attendance.  I promised Brooks that I would confirm numbers nearer the time.

It should be a very interesting visit and I'm really looking forward to it.  Not that there isn't a lot of fun stuff to enjoy in the meantime.
