I actually have no idea. We don't do a weekly shop - we just buy stuff when needed.
Same here. I almost never go out to just do a food shop.
We have a rolling list and pick food up when we are going somewhere anyway.
OH gets a lot of our basic provisions from the "local" wholefood shop most weeks when he volunteers at the railway.
Local being a 36 mile round trip! He also gets food at the co-op convenience store in the same small town.
Yes it probably costs more, but our nearest proper supermarket is a 36 mile round trip in the opposite direction (more in bad weather). It's not just the fuel, it's the time.
He's at the GPs this morning, so different small co-op and independent fruit and veg shop. (we don't eat meat or fish)
That's a 12 mile round trip and sorry but it is much too hilly to bike with shopping!
We have enough medical-related appointments and other activities to pass a supermarket, any one will do, and top up on other goods as and when.
I do batch cook and freeze quite a lot, and put a lot of thought into balancing our meals to use up what we have in stock.
