When Patrick Kielty handed over to Davina McCall a couple of hours ago it was -15° C.  :o

I'm thinking of putting false plates on the car as Jimmy Carr rides anywhere near Cambridge.  :demon:

C'mon... it would be doing the world a bloody big favour.

Please elaborate?

Do you mean the slaying of Jimmy?

Or you then being banged up with no Internet access?

Or even a double whammy.

I hardly think any jury would want someone sent down for slaying Jimmy Carr.  Especially if Reg gets Mr Loophole to get him off the charges...

I was going to ask that represents the official line of the CTC on this matter.

I'm sure that some at CTC would love to see me banged up without an interweb connection...  ;) ;D

That's the point.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

When you say "banged up" and "double whammy" which perverse practices are you referring to?

Davina McCall can ride on the back of my tandem any day of the week  ;D

I'd have her on the front to be honest  :P

Edit: Oh - she must not say anything at all though!
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

This gives a pretty good idea of what Davina went through. I'm very impressed.

+1 In the summer one might think of it as a bit of a celebrity thing. In early march, completely nuts and well 'ard.

Serious respect.

Despite the harrowing situation I was in, it was also incredibly beautiful. Even with the car, it was so silent and peaceful – the full moon was shining on the surrounding snow turning the entire landscape blue and the roads were relatively solid. All of this managed to take my mind off the two mile climb that lay ahead

They are about an hour from where we live but I have to take Mrs. TKP to work in an hour so it's touch and go whether or not I will catch them. It would have been nice to join in for a few miles. They are passing through Manchester later today so they have got the horrible Preston to Manchester route to negotiate. I can't see Davina waxing lyrical about that somehow.

They get my admiration but I can't help but feel that mixing a group of inexperienced cyclists with darkness, snow, ice, and sleep deprivation is an accident waiting to happen.

I haven't been able to find any advance information about their route which is really frustrating and must mean that they get far less support along the way than they deserve.

Their own website is really disappointing in my opinion. The latest news "live feed" banner often being over twenty four hours out of date. No up to date video clips or photos, it's a poor show really.

Jimmy Carr is on the bike now, over to you Clarion.  ;)

The route must come past me at some point.
The GPS tracker seems fairly useful
I might try and ride along with them if possible and tell them that we are impressed

Because I think we are, over all

Yes the GPS tracker is great but you have to know in advance that they are coming somewhere near to you and the map on the website shows only that they are passing through Glasgow, Manchester and Bristol. I think they have missed a trick there.

/Edit

It now looks like they are going to bypass Manchester to the west.
