First yellowhammer of the year singing this morning - still a sub-song, missing out the long final note.
A couple of nuthatches singing long, liquid trills.
My first skylark on the way home.
Lots of (wild of course) primroses in the reserve (Snitterfield), plus an apparently new site for wild daffodils. Snitterfield churchyard was carpeted in primroses, which I'm inclined to consider wild, though without evidence.
On yesterday's ride, the wild daffodils on the south-facing slopes along the ridge north of Meriden have opened up nicely - about a third in bloom. I spotted a small patch in a place I was previously unaware of; time to pass on the sighting to the Wildlife Trust's records (aiui, probably a central register which the Trust has access to)
