so what are the chances of Rob trying to do away with [Stefan] instead?

After Friday's events, quite high, I'd say.

Too late for that now, unless he takes out Justin as well.

So did Justin get wind of Stefan being back in Ambridge from Fag Ash Lil almost bumping into him when he was trying to shake Rob down? I thought Lilian said she didn't hear anything, but presumably she did and tipped Justin off out of our earshot. Or did I miss a bit?

She had already seen Stefan earlier in the week while out with Jennifer, who explained that she and David had passed on Stefan's story to Charlie but hadn't followed it up - they assumed it had been dealt with.

Rob's alternative fact about Stefan being a sales rep would then have been enough to make her realise something fishy was going on.

The same thought crossed my mind about Rob kidnapping the boys after last night's episode.

Lillian heard it all and relayed to Justin.

I still reckon we're on for a cataclysmic end of Rob and the two boys.

On the one hand it mustn't go all Eastenders, but on the other we can't have another long slow burn.
So
Kidnap, and swift recovery, Rob locked up, key lost.

Tom will rush in, save the day, rescue The Boys and drown Rob in a slurry pit. Kirsty will see him in a different light and, in a mess of pregnant hormones, pledge her undying wossname.  Meanwhile Justin will be exposed for the evil landlord he is, following a chance remark by Miranda. Adam, full of rage, confronts him and he scuttles off, but not before he's reinstated Charlie Thomas as manager. Charlie moves in with Ian and Adam and they all live happily ever after.

Definitely not, IMO. My only question is whether Ursula is in on it or not.

Ah. Ursula as a distracting accessory in the kidnap attempt?

I reckon maybe so. That was quite a convincing show of waterworks she put on in the shop with Pat, but I wouldn't trust Ursula as far as I could throw her.

I very much enjoyed the new vet giving Jazzer a run for his money though.

So Rob perverted the course of the Am (or blocked a culvert, or something), exacerbating the flooding and endangering life and now Justin is perverting the course of justice by not disclosing this to the police. The righteous gods of Ambridge will not let that go unpunished. And Stefan remains a long-term blackmailing loose-end.

They'll do the nasty. It'll be signified by the usual spine-juddering post-coital Ambridge sighs.

I got the impression she had her sights set on Rex. Maybe Rex and Jazzer can have a fight over her - I'm envisaging something along the lines of Alan Bates and Oliver Reed in Women In Love.

I have a back log of omnibuses to catch up on - I'm part way through the Christmas edition.  Clearly its all kicking off in Ambridge so I need to pull my finger out and get up to date!

Eurgh. Far too early on a Sunday for that kind of thing. It's bad enough with Pip and Toby.

I don't always listen, so I may have missed something.
But what's this Brighton thing?
Another partner and child?
A vulnerable relative?
A vulnerable friend?
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

He's claimed in the past that it's a vulnerable friend but I trust him as far as Jill could throw him.

Oh yeah, something that's been puzzling me. Why did Pip go to NZ last Christmas?

That was Pip's mum, Ruth.

She went to look at Kiwi cattle grazing/milking methods (and to get away from David for a bit)

I think Pip went somewhere a while ago though - some kind of work placement for a big multinational agri-corp?

Doh!  I meant Ruth not Pip. Thanks for the answer.

In a recent Graun quick crossword, the clue was "Radio distress call" and the solution was "MAYDAY". My brane wanted me to write "eurrr neurrr" but I couldn't make it fit.
