Oh buggah!  My scalc won't open the .xls file :(

EDIT:  False alarm - Windows was just sulking that I wasn't using a Microsoft product.  Open Office had opened the spreadsheet quite happily.

Oh.  My.  Goodness! :o

That is magnificent.  104 laps in the end - initially ten not counted, which is a suspiciously round number.

Anyway, it looks from that like Mr Gates was keeping very accurate times.  Top man.

Jim Brailsford rode a ggod race, though.  Really outstanding.  It's a real shame that the Czech chap was DQ'd (not that I disagree with the reasoning), because he was a phenomenal rider.

I'm pleased Merlin Evans put up a good show for the Clarion.  I believe he's had two second places in the last two races, but he's not been riding much lately.  Creditable peformance.

And Lionel wasn't last!

Btw, anyone remember which team the young lads were?

I was going to say exactly that. He looked very dapper, throughout :)

Well done Charlotte and Kat. Hell, well done to Kim too, might as well say that as everyone else seems to be. :D
Mustn't forget Andy and Phil too. Looks like it was a good event with a good atmosphere from what I saw on the crash film.
Seems like you learned as you went along a bit. I can see why you'd need to be good on the corners, those big wheels would need a hell of a lot of winding up to speed and it'd kill the legs doing that. You probably lost a few laps when you were learning, so it's a very good effort compared to the mor experienced.

This year, Knutsford.
Next year PBP.

I don't think Charlotte can maintain that grimace for 1200km without major facial surgery.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

Chuffin 'Eck. If Charlotte undertakes to do PBP on her Ordinary - even I might enter.

Next year Evandale, surely? O:-)

A good plan.
It'll keep the legs turning in the off season and give her a headstart for the PBP qualifiers.
Charlotte will be THE star of PBP. Move over Drew Buck. ;D

Pitstop sequence.  Much faster than the slideshow can do credit.

Later, and with the slightly flimsy holders more worn, Andy even managed to change the transponder over for the video without fumbling.  No stagefright in that lad

Quite.

Let us hear no more of this French Ride nonsense.  I'm going to Tazzie to teach those upside down chappies a thing or two about riding a wheel  :)

Charlotte doing a masterclass in wheel(re)building.  The course was tough on spokes.  Some of the bikes looked rather gap-toothed by the end of it...

So what's it actually like riding one of these things? Do you feel like you are constantly on the verge of a faceplant? What are they like to corner on?

Very impressed by all of this  :) Looks like a cracking day out, and I'm sorry I missed it.

well tha was rather good  ;D

great to see the more prominent YACFers. And the not so prominent

I did try to dress for the occasion  8)

the only shame is that we got to wait 10years for it to happen again. Although next time we may have machinary newer than 132years and approx 100 years old. We broke 7 spokes in total  ;D ;D ;D. and lost the transponder which cost us 10laps. Our newer macvhine shed its tyre - giving the owner a faceplant - nice. The wheel wa pringled - but Richard T stood on one side and me on the other - and it popped back into shape. Half a roll of duck tape later - the tyre was rolling off the rim which was a bit scary - and we werre back to sub 2 minute laps. Dont know if my wife knew whether to laugh or cry
