Mr Wheeler and co remain exceedingly entertaining. Saw them (for the fourth time) in Pompey a few months back.

Make of this what you will, but...

The live recording of Radio 4 comedy show 'The One Show', at the Radio Theatre in Broadcasting House, in That London.

There was even a Dalek in the lobby to keep an eye on us.

The Now Show, Shirley? I think The One Show is a TV offering.

Yes, it’s the one that makes me scream and switch to Channel 4 as quickly as is humanly possible :demon:

Stiff Little Fingers at the Roundhouse in London's famous London. There was a high proportion of "gentlemen of a certain age" in the audience, I guess me included. Jake Burns has eaten a few pies since I first saw them in 1978 (FFS!) but then I'm not the sylph I used to either. Ali McCordie is a walking, talking, bass playing definition of wiry though.

Lots of the old songs, plus some newer, just as angry, just as tight.

SLF used to start their school holidays tours at Malvern Winter gardens, so I saw them many times in July in the early eighties.

It was rather splendid, marred only by the ticket-purchasing cockup that led to me seeing them tonight while my grate frend Mr Woolrich is seeing them at the same venue on Friday chiz.

Half Man Half Biscuit at the John Peel Centre last Friday. Not the best setlist, TBH, but very intimate and I conversed, drunkenly on my part, with lead singer, Nigel, after the gig. Sheila, Peelie's widow, was there and it was a fine evening. By all accounts, the following night's Cambridge gig - wot I normally go to - was even better; so much so, that Len Ganley Stance got its first full outing live since being released in 1985.

Ryan Adams at York Barbican Friday 14th April

No support act just him playing one of three acoustic guitars or upright piano.
Blimey it was a three hour set !

He had to wing it as the piano turned out to be broken. Only one key was duff but as he said "that's the note most of my songs are based on".

Very good gig with the best sound I have heard for a long time.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

He's now using it to advertise his upcoming gig in Camden in June.  Might have to go to that...

Death & the Maiden & the Four Seasons at Birmingham Town Hall. The latter interspersed with Polish folk tunes. Starting in 15 minutes...

Edit: Very, very good, but for Polish folk, read Argentinian tango!

Colin Stetson at the Attenborough Centre in Brighton.  Your eyes tell you it's one person with a saxophone, your ears tell you it's a sizeable ensemble from Betelgeuse.  Astonishing!
