I agree, the article is a great read. There is a tv programme my daughter watches where all the kids come up with cover stories for some stunt they have pulled, then one of them decides to come clean and tell the truth, at which point the headmaster says, "Now that I believe". I feel the same way.
At least we now have something that is believable if very sad for everyone concerned. You can see how a young rider at US Postal really has little choice, you can see why they all lie. At least Landis can go back to his Menonite parents and lead a simple life if he wants to.
I just can't help thinking of all the kind hearted folk who have defended Landis, Hamilton, whoever, going along with all the mumbo jumbo of dubious results, dodgy labs, any excuse they like, yet slow but surely more riders do eventually come clean. I like the way he makes fun of David Millar's little story, I tried it once and got caught, what a relief!!
But will Lance get caught?
