Careful! I was talking about going West into the relaxed part of the world.
The Arriva train that goes to Manchester via Hereford probably does need bike reservations, although that is still unlikely to award you anywhere to actually put your bike.
First Great Western will definitely need reservations.

Speaking of Poo, I've just realised that in all the snarking about the state of the A34 ~~cycle~~path, I've completely forgot to mention the way the boaty place at Norton Junction tried to drive off the lycra-clad weirdos by starting up a sewage pump just as we were sitting down for lunch.

It was, to use the technical term, a bit wiffy.

Hmm, all the pics show up OK when I look at them in Firefox, but when I use Safari 6 of them don't show up
